Avantida by E2open introduces new service moveX
Responding to the market needs and the requests of many of its customers, Avantida is introducing a new service that helps optimizing empty container handling. The new service is launched under the brandname moveX and allows Ocean Lines to digitally place container repositioning jobs on the Avantida platform that is connecting them to more than 7.000 Trucking Companies in more than 20 countries around the globe. Trucking Companies can review the jobs online and accept the tendered work with just a click of a button on the Platform. Given Avantida’s multi-facetted Payment Platform, the financial flow is fully automated. Trucking companies can now not just request Street Turns and Depot Changes for their import and export bookings, but they now can also “earn” money through empty container moves.
This new service is the first of a series of new services Avantida plans to launch during the next few months to build out its Digital Container Marketplace.
“Enabling empty container repositioning trades on the Avantida Platform is a logical step for us as it further complements the market leading Street Turn and Depot Location Change services, we have launched in 4 continents during the past years. Trucking companies will now be able to get awarded with business they previously wouldn’t be able to capture. On the other side, the Ocean Lines will be able to tap into the world’s largest network of connected Trucking Companies in a fully automated fashion that shields them from the financial settlement complexity. With this service Avantida continues to deliver innovations and delivers on the vision to provide win-win solutions for both, the Ocean Lines and the Trucking Community.”, says Rico van Leuken, the firm’s General Manager.
The new service will be offered by the majority of the leading ocean lines and will be introduced in each country in a phased approach in the weeks ahead.
Yannick Lefevre, Avantida’s Head of Global Account Management, points out: “Surplus and shortage inventory of empty containers at depots and terminals is one of the unsolved problems in the equipment world. It’s our believe that our unique network-based Marketplace concept allows the industry to eliminate some of the inefficiencies and thus, create a substantial environmental impact on top of cost optimizations for all parties”.
With truck driver shortages in almost every country, rising fuel prices and growing congestion around port areas and in manufacturing regions, Avantida’s reUse, depotX and now also moveX applications will further transform the intermodal sector to optimize road transports and equipment storage.
