Rico Van Leuken Named Vice President and General Manager of Avantida by E2open

Avantida co-founder Luc De Clerck departs E2open to pursue other opportunities

ANTWERP, Belgium – May 31, 2019 – Avantida by E2open (Avantida), today announced the appointment of Rico Van Leuken as vice president and general manager of E2open’s Avantida business unit. He most recently served as vice president of solution consulting and strategy for E2open. Van Leuken replaces Avantida co-founder Luc De Clerck who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Van Leuken is a 20 year veteran in the supply chain and logistics industry. Prior to his role as vice president of solution consulting and strategy for E2open, he served as vice president of customer solutions for E2open. He also spent 12 years in companies including Philips and Flowserve to design, implement, run and manage supply chain operations prior to joining E2open. Van Leuken was born in Germany and is a graduate of the University of Stralsund in Germany with a degree in industrial engineering.

“I admire the way the Avantida platform concept can create enormous environmental impact and operational benefit to all logistic parties involved,” said Van Leuken. “Today it offers exception-based services such as triangulation and alternative depot locations, but for tomorrow I foresee so much more. I am thrilled for this new opportunity to lead Avantida through its continued growth and development and into its next chapter.”

The Avantida platform is currently active in Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Poland, Lithuania, Scandinavia, Switzerland, the UK, Mexico, the United States and Canada. Overall, the platform is used by almost 7,000 registered companies and facilitates an average of 2,500 transactions a day.

“It’s been a great adventure,” said De Clerck. “As I look back at how we started up Avantida and reflect on what it is today, I am proud of what our platform has become and I know it will continue to grow and further help shipping lines in their repositioning strategies as well as transport companies in making their planning as efficient and cost-effective as possible. That’s always been our aim: to enable win-win opportunities by digitizing operational processes.”

“We thank Luc for all his years of service and his efforts to launch Avantida and build it into the strong platform that it is today. We wish him the best of luck in all of his future entrepreneurial endeavors,” said Michael Farlekas, president and chief executive officer of E2open. “Rico is a passionate executive and leader and we look forward to his continued work to transform supply chain planning and execution.”

Avantida, a subsidiary of INTTRA Inc., was acquired by E2open in October of 2018 via its acquisition of INTTRA Inc.
